Pregnant Woman Murdered By Husband After Saying She Wanted A Divorce

Amal Abdi, 21,was knifed to death by her
husband after she said she wanted a
divorce,she told him “I don’t want you any
more”, a court heard.
The Pregnant woman was strangled,
repeatedly stabbed and bitten in the
ferocious attack by husband Somalian
Abdirashid Khadar, it is alleged.
Khadar, 22, left the expectant mum curled
in a pool of blood before dialling 999 and
telling police: “I’ve got something to show
you”, a jury was told.
In a thick accent, he allegedly told the
operator: “I’m kill someone. I’m kill my
wife.”
Khadar then asked for police to come and
arrest him or kill him.
Officers found Amal in the living room of
the flat she shared with Khadar in Barton
Hill, Bristol with gaping wounds to her neck.
Attempts by police and paramedics to
resuscitate her failed and she was
pronounced dead at the scene, Bristol Crown
Court heard.
Tests confirmed she was pregnant at the
time of her death, but there was no sign of
injury to her abdomen.
