We see Davido working, but he has no released song to show for it and sadly he’s in an industry where only results count.
Believe it or not, the last official song released by Nigeria pop star, Davido was ‘The Money’ featuring Olamide on November 7, 2015.
At the time when ‘The Money’ was released, it was meant to be the single that’ll precede the release of Davido’s sophomore album. The album didn’t drop, but fans were pleasantly pleased a few months later when Davido signed a first of its kind global deal with Sony Music worldwide.
Davido’s team at that time of the Sony deal in January 2016, explained that the album was delayed because of logistics relating to the new deal.
So the wait for a new Davido song began in January 2016.
Weeks after the Sony deal, it was announced that Davido was all set to release an EP titled Son Of Mercy.
Weeks turned to months and nothing happened, yet fans of Davido see him recording new songs daily on Snapchat.
Then a glimmer of hope came when Davido announced September 9, 2016 as the release date of his new song.
Unfortunately, Davido failed again!
Now, his fans are worried and they are blaming SONY music for the lack of new songs from Davido.

One day one drama…Handsome Nollywood star, Ifeanyi Azodo, has been arrested by the police in Onitsha for alleged robbery. The Area Commander of Onitsha Police Area Command, Abubarkar Yahaya, confirmed Azodo’s arrest to journalists in his office.
He said:
“There was a case against him and we just invited him to make statement and we released him on bail because it is a ‘bailable’ offence. “If you want details of the matter, then go to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
Don’t quote me wrong, I said we had a case reported against him and we invited him for questioning and along the line we found out that he took laws into his hands and in the course of our investigation we found him wanting.
“However, we have recovered about 80 per cent of the missing items in relation with the matter and investigation is still ongoing.”
Asked when police would arraign Azodo, the area commander said that would depend on the outcome of investigation.
A top police officer told New Telegraph that the owner of a hotel in Ontsha reported the case of robbery against Azodo.
According to investigation, Azodo invited a 30-yearold man into the hotel. During their discussion, there arose a misunderstanding between them which attracted the hotel management who invited the police. The man, who gave his name simply as Stephen, did not speak on the cause of the argument.
When contacted through a text message, Azodo replied: “Ya bro got ur message. Will call u once am done shooting.”
However, Azodo did not call at press time. The PPRO, ASP Nkiru Nwode, confirmed Azodo’s arrest. Nwode said that it was a case of robbery and not homosexuality as being rumoured in some quarters.
The Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) has announced the winners of the 2015 edition of the awards.
Bear in mind, 78 hours to the D-day, the awards ceremony was postponed indefinitely last year with the organizers citing logistic challenges as the reason for the decision.
“It was a tough call but it was inevitable,” the organisers said adding that “the need to overhaul the concept, with a view to making it more purposeful also overwhelmed it”.
On why they are releasing the winners for the 2015 edition despite the fact that the ceremony was not held, the Coordinator of the award, Mr. Cally Ikpe said:
“All other stages of the 9th edition of the NMVA was observed, from the call for entry, the nomination and to the online voting among other ancillary programs. It is imperative that the public is let in to what the result of the process is. Though belated, but we are pleased to announce the winners in the various categories for the 9th edition of the annual Nigeria Music Video Awards. In a short while, we will also let you know what the plans for the 2016 edition are”.

To increase your wealth and reduce the effect of depression on your finances, adjust your personal banking habit by following these rules.
Use less of credit card: Stay away from unnecessary loans or debts. Debit card will give you access to only the money you have in your account but credit card can make you spend more than you have in your account. So, use less of credit card to stay out of debt.
Transfer idle money to fixed deposit: Many people leave their idle funds in current account and pay heavy charges on it. If you know you won’t need the funds very soon, look for banks with competitive interest rates where you can fix the funds and earn some interest.
Create emergency fund: Emergency fund is the money you save to help you adjust to your financial needs when you run out of funds. If your business goes down due to economic recession or wrong financial decisions, you can fall back on emergency funds. You don’t have to spend all your income. Build the habit of consciously saving part of your money in a bank account, which can be earning interest. This money can also be channelled into investment if you have a lofty idea later.
You could give yourself targets to save specific amount every month so that if you run into any financial trouble, you don’t have to start looking for loans or borrowing from friends.
You may not be able to save more funds when depression sets in, it is better to start saving now.
Draft your budget: Draft a budget that is suitable for your income and which can allow you to still save after incurring your expense. Know how much you earn every month and how much you are saving. Create a list of preference and spend according to the relevance on the list. Do not spend outside your budget so that you don’t violate your savings rule.
Avoid frivolous spending: During periods of abundance, you probably have a lot of money to throw away. But in periods of recession, you need to understand that you cannot be spending anyhow. You have to do away with things that can reduce your bank deposits like spending on parties, buying expensive things you don’t really need just to please people around you.
Use more of savings account: Every savings you make will make a meaning to your account. If you feel some money is not relevant and you continue to spend anyhow, overtime, you will discover it could have increased your bank balance.
Make regular deposits into your savings account so that it could yield a little interest and not attract charges. Let your money stay longer in the savings account because withdrawing without depositing will drain your account. Keeping your money in a current account will make your bank to deduct regular charges from it.
